One example is Meta, formerly Facebook, which tried to create its own metaverse before giving up. Today, the one who is trying his luck in the adventure is Microsoft by partnering with Space and Time, specialised in blockchain data.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>What does this partnership involve?<\/h3>\nSpace and Time is a<b> hybrid data service<\/b> based on blockchain and other indirect sources. It offers <b>interactions with various blockchains<\/b> such as Etherum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Sui and Avalanche.\n\nIn <b>2021<\/b>, Microsoft&#8217;s venture capital investment arm, <b>M12<\/b>, had led a <b>$20 million funding<\/b> <b>round<\/b> for Space and Time. Space and Time&#8217;s services and tools can now <b>be found in Microsoft&#8217;s Azure cloud catalogue<\/b>.\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"435\" src=\"https:\/\/liora.io\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2023\/04\/189170.png\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\">\n<h3>Is it the only cloud service interested in blockchain?<\/h3>\nNot surprisingly, <b>Microsoft is not the first to take an interest in blockchain<\/b>. Other cloud service providers have entered the web3 domain, such as <b>AWS with Avalanche<\/b> and <b>Google with <\/b>its <a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/blog\/products\/infrastructure-modernization\/introducing-blockchain-node-engine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blockchain Node Engine<\/a>.\n\nAccording to data specialist <b>Statista<\/b>, Azure is <b>the second largest cloud service<\/b> provider in the world with a <b>21% market share<\/b>. It is behind <b>AWS<\/b>, far ahead with <b>34%<\/b>, and above <b>Google Cloud<\/b>, with only <b>11%<\/b>.&nbsp;\n\nThrough this partnership, Microsoft seems to be <b>seeking to compete directly with AWS<\/b> in this market, while the company is <b>also developing on the artificial intelligence side<\/b>, while AWS is timidly starting to make its entry.\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"591\" src=\"https:\/\/liora.io\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-21-155847.png\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\">\n\nThis move shows that the IT giant is <b>looking to invest heavily in revolutionary technologies<\/b> in order to be the forerunner.
