For several months now, the boss of Twitter, Tesla, SpaceX and Neuralink has been making a lot of noise in the AI field. First criticising ChatGPT as too “woke”, he then signed a petition to stop its development, before starting to create his own.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Why create TruthGPT?<\/h2>\n\n\n

TruthGPT is the purpose<\/strong> behind Elon Musk’s creation of the X.AI company<\/strong> in March and the 10,000 GPUs<\/strong> he recently purchased. With this project, Musk explains that he first wanted to compete with OpenAI and ChatGPT<\/strong>. Co-founder of OpenAI in 2015<\/strong> before leaving it in 2018<\/strong>, he considers OpenAI’s AI to be trained to be “woke”<\/strong>. A problem according to him because wokism amounts to hiding part of the truth and therefore lying to its users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

What is TruthGPT?<\/h2>\n\n\n

Elon Musk’s primary objective<\/strong> with TruthGPT is to create an artificial intelligence that would seek the universal truth and its interest<\/a>. According to the billionaire, this is the best way<\/strong> to develop a generative AI and guarantee the survival of humanity<\/strong>. For Musk, AI has the potential to destroy humans, but by educating it to be interested in the universe and by extension in humans, we would be saved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

“AI would act like humans seeking to protect the environment because it is essential to their survival and in their best interests.”<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

We now know the reason for Musk’s actions around AI for several months<\/strong>. It remains to be seen what will become of this promising project and its future uses<\/strong>.
